Design Thinking

Transform Creativity Into Professional Design Skills

Global School of Arts and Design introduces students to Design Thinking as a creative, practical and
user-focused approach to solving problems. Students learn to observe, research, understand user
needs, define problems, generate ideas, develop concepts, create prototypes and test solutions.
Through real-life design challenges, brainstorming activities and project-based exercises, students
develop creative confidence, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. The programme
encourages students to explore multiple ideas, experiment with different approaches and learn from
feedback. Design Thinking helps students develop a structured yet creative mindset.

The curriculum focuses on:

Sketching & rendering techniques

Elements & principles of design

Colour theory & application

Composition & layout understanding

Visualization & concept development

Perspective drawing

Creative problem solving

Material exploration

Design thinking & ideation

Presentation techniques

Learners work on practical assignments, observation-based exercises, conceptual projects, and portfolio-oriented activities that help strengthen imagination, artistic confidence, and visual communication abilities.

At GSAD, design learning is not limited to technical skills — it is about developing creativity, originality, and the confidence to transform ideas into meaningful visual experiences.
